The Setting
The futuristic setting explores adventuring hundreds, if not thousands, of years into the future. It is a period filled with advanced science and technology, significant space exploration, planet wide metropolises, the formation of galactic communities, simulated virtual experiences, and even the colonisation of new worlds.
The scope of this setting can be viewed microscopically or macroscopically: such as the life of a handful individuals trying to survive in a remote city or star port, to being part of a society that seeks to unite other cultures and civilisations under a universal galactic order.
Primarily, stories in this setting possess a strong science fiction focus, where science and technology have a significant impact on the everyday lives of creatures and the galaxy as a whole. An impact that can be either: tragic or beneficial, exciting or terrifying, wondrous or mediocre, advanced or impoverished; or a combination of all.
Furthermore, since these concepts are so broad, numerous stories can be told within the futuristic setting, such as a utopian society where a united galactic order seeks to find new and remote civilisations to join within their federation of planets; a galaxy that is at war, with numerous hostile species and organisations all vying for domination; a society consumed and obsessed with living a virtual existence apart from physical contact; an urban metropolis, where technology is hyper-advanced, but living conditions are significantly substandard; a time where oligarchs and powerful elite reign supreme in an oppressive universal order; a world under threat from an invading race of creatures or cyborgs; and many others.

Each of these stories contain common threads: a society or group responding to the significant impacts of their technological advancements. The futuristic setting is primarily about change and how societies adapt to advancing technology. A close second is the fear and wonder present in the universe and how ruthlessly it can alter everyday existence.

Adventures with this theme include: colonists exploring the unknown and uncharted regions of space to find wonder and terror; being stranded on a semi-inhabitable planet and trying to survive until help arrives; working as part of a galactic law enforcement agency, seeking to destroy interstellar terrors that might impact planets within your territory. What part will you play in the larger galaxy?

FEATURES
Galactic Campaigns
The infinite universe has become the new landscape of the future, where you can set your adventures within the vastness of space. Perhaps you are part of a community that lives in a space megastructure and must protect it against other invaders, or simply use it as a way to springboard exploration to other parts of the galaxy.

Having access to enormous spacecraft allows for relatively simple exploration of the myriad planets in the universe. Perhaps you are part of an expedition into the unknown regions of space, seeking to chart new courses or explore mineral rich planets.
This book provides you with ways to travel to other worlds in colossal starships, dominating the surrounding space, before taking your campaign back to solid ground on a nearby planet. Become an expert starfighter pilot, or demonstrate your command abilities by becoming leader of a massive starship fleet, using rules for vehicles almost as large as planetary bodies that can set the stage for entire campaigns in space.
Interplanetary Travel
You may decide that diplomacy and expansion are the reason for your exploration, as you serve as diplomats and protectorate services for a fledgling civilisation. It could be simple wanderlust that drives you, making your fortunes as a private adventurer and galactic explorer. There are unlimited diverse adventure possibilities within this setting.

Wherever you go, the galaxy is filled with a range of deadly and unique conditions that can be difficult to navigate safely. As you explore, you may run into the deadly vacuum of space; zero, low and high gravity atmospheres; beautiful and disorienting nebulae; asteroid fields; and even black holes.

This book will provide rules for hyperspace travel, where you can move at or near the speed of light, reaching distant worlds and galaxies within hours, instead of years and decades. There is also a plethora of space environmental effects, planets, and travelling options that can be used to add drama and excitement to any adventure.

Virtual Worlds
Why bother living in the real world when you can simply create one that is simulated? This is a serious question that can be explored (and possibly answered) in the far future as virtual realities become more prevalent, complex, pervasive, and immersive. It is possible for entire societies to exist purely in simulations, trading their physical worlds for virtual ones.
Cyberspace can also serve as a refuge for many creatures seeking to create alternate existences that are otherwise impossible. Illegal gambling and fighting, clandestine government and military operations, mind control, and even secret liaisons among the elite can use simulations to conduct their affairs without the prying attention of others.

This book will provide you with ways to explore virtual reality simulations, where the standard rules of physics, space and time can be bent or even broken.
Advanced Technology
Death is not nearly as terrifying a prospect in the future, provided you have the credits. The far future offers many ways to keep yourself alive.
This book will provide you with ways to clone yourself, or even backing up your consciousness digitally, so in the event of your death it can be uploaded into another body. Explore eternal life and the psychological effects this can have.
However, if you prefer something a little more cyberpunk, why not try out cybernetics. Physical augmentation is a common element in the futuristic setting. Replacing your body with mechanical and digital enhancements allows you to transcend your mortal limitations and more. But how many upgrades are too many? Will you let it become an obsession or use it in moderation?
This book will provide you with ways to augment yourself using advanced cybernetic enhancements and implants.

Mecha Adventures
Mecha refer to large, armoured robots controlled by creatures within. The far future has many uses for such creations. Some are use for entertainment, where the greatest pilots battle them in arenas filled with spectators.
Others are used for military purposes to defeat or pacify alien forces on uninhabitable, hostile planets. Perhaps your robot is the last of its kind, or a prototype that must be maintained for the protection of your society. Either way, campaigns where mecha are at the centre can introduce a unique gaming experience
This book will provide you the tools to create your own mecha, battle suit, or walker. Modify your vehicle's weaponry and features as you create the perfect instrument of destruction.
Faction Warfare
Organisations are a great way to unite a group of adventures in a common purpose. As each tends to have its own unique set of goals and agendas, becoming allied, beholden, or opposed to an organisation allows you to explore the consequences of such relationships.
For example, covertly infiltrating an underworld organisation while working for a law enforcement agency can create very interesting narrative situations as you try to maintain multiple conflicting relationships concurrently. The closer you entwine yourself within an organisation, so too will be the demand to prove and maintain your allegiances.

This book will provide examples of common types of organisations the GM can include as part of the setting and the benefits of membership. It will also cover the rules for the different access levels you may encounter during exploration.
